GWLADYS OLWEN BUXTON 1928 ~ 2015

After a serene Cremation service at Bury St. Edmunds, introduced by a beautiful voice singing in welsh, a hymn sung by a welsh choir during the service and another piece of welsh music for us to go out, the congregation returned to Borley Parish church for a memorial service for Gwladys. The church was full to overflowing with all her sons and daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren, members of the Newton Green Golf Club (of which Gwladys was a great supporter of the 'Old and Bold’ social events), and of the Probus Society of Sudbury, and many friends and acquaintances.

Both services were led by the Rev’d Margaret King with readings and tributes being made by Gwladys’ daughter, son and grandson. The Order of Service was resplendent with photographs of Gwladys and her husband, Paul, and a beautiful poem ‘Love and Go On’ by David Harkins, which was read at the service.

We shall miss Gwladys at our services in the Church, at the Golf Club and the Probus Club lunches and coffee mornings.

Her Ashes have been taken to Wales to be buried in her parents grave.
